Bed of Blue… Dreamy nymph or ‘blue steel’?

Firstly: a big thank you to all the replies I’ve had to my recent (and extremely rare) email, which I sent out to those on my mailing list, announcing that I’m freshly available for some golden-hour nature shoots over the next few months. I now have a huge pile of replies to send and will work through them as quickly as I can!

In the meantime, some images to share… Anyone who’s been following my work for a while knows that I have a small (and actually unending) addiction to these yearly exuberances of blue…

We are coming to the end of bluebell season here in England, but never fear, for I see it as my pleasurable duty, or dutiful pleasure, to stand in the midst of the vivid wash of that perfect hue, admiring their delicate elegance and even the subtle scent. 🙂 It would be entirely negligent of me not to frolic among them, surely? This particular patch, which I have been so celebrating for a decade and a half now(!) is just getting more and more amazing each year.

Newbie photographer MC and I created the heap of images you’ll find below, in and around of the woods.

(Please note, I always take care not to trample the bluebells and instruct the photographers with me to do the same – and the image of me at the end with a bluebell tucked into my hair depicts one which was found already slain on the ground, not plucked from the Earth by my hands!). That said, I love how they change in the light and after rain; they are actually quite robust, despite being lauded as being so fragile; I’ve watched them spring back up after extreme downpours, and I’m confident they’ll thrive for decades yet to come!

Let’s begin the journey…

Entering the woods (as always, click the first image of each gallery to then click through and see them larger):

… In a bit further…

… And some fashion-y portraits (incl. a touch of blue steel – OK, maybe not the last one!) to finish:

You’ll notice I still haven’t mastered the admirable art of narrowing down favourites to a reasonable number. Believe it or not, there were tons more I could have shared from this very short, early morning photoshoot. But this is (far) more than enough! Over and out, for now! ❤
