The sea sees me

These photos were taken in Fuerteventura in Dec by Jeremy Howitt (who wins awards for not being bored of me after so many shoots and wanting to photograph me so much in so many places; it’s a joy!). It was a quick whirlwind of a trip for me, a few days in the heat and dunes – I was actually horribly ill during this trip and struggling to breathe/function, but I don’t think you can tell. I really do consider myself to have had great luck with my modelling in terms of what I’ve experienced. SO grateful for these opportunities! I’m finding it quite a balancing act at the moment while going in multiple directions, but I will always want to come back to this sort of thing and say yes to as many things as I can.

And it’s a great, visceral pleasure for me to pose in and around water – flowing, peaceful and wild.

Poldark Heights

I managed to time a shoot with the wonderful Jeremy Howitt around the latest shoot with The Wool Company, down in Cornwall – beautiful beautiful part of England.  Always love these visits! This time Jeremy and I were joined by a stylist (very unusual for us; normally our shoots are a case of Jeremy making me come over all monochrome [our Paris shots perhaps being the ones I think we are most known for], sleek and stylish while I suggest bright and patterned hippie dresses, mostly politely ignored; though we did go to Fuerteventura a couple of weeks ago, and a couple of dresses I bought in Indonesia made a star performance amongst some beautiful nudes on its beaches; images soon!). Anyway, Lady C came with a car full of vintage dresses, all brimming with character and delicate design. I fell a bit in love with this lilac number, in particular; I feel Poldark himself may have approved. (I tell myself; and even if we were using his Wheal Coates tin mine as a mere backdrop.)

Sometimes drizzly, dreary weather gives a moody flounce or two a bit of atmosphere.

Merry, Merry Christmas one and all! 🙂

Sun, bedazzle me!

A very early start, a hilarious photographer, some incredible waves that we were able to witness crashing and swirling and having a Poseidonic fit of hydro-power… Here are some images taken recently in New South Wales by Tim Bradshaw. I’ll be down under again soon enough thankfully (here there and everywhere); my last trip was far too short and rushed!!

The Sea’s Sacred Geometry

And now, for my next trick, it’s hello from Bali! I absolutely love this place and felt such a pull to come back. Things here have been unpredictable but beautiful, and not without an island’s worth of magic along with the constant fluttering of butterflies by my side (not to mention a special visit from a dragonfly, and the pitter-pattering of frogs leaping around and ahead of me). If all this sounds a bit too airy-fairy, well, welcome to my reality.

Just a quick update today with a single image (and I haven’t forgotten the ‘secret blog post’ I have foretold, which I am still planning to post very soon for those who follow along). This one is by Malcolm Grant, who is an excellent host/person/photographer. Just a teaser really as there will be more to come, and some featuring me modelling with a wonderful fellow model I hadn’t worked with before which I can’t wait to show you, but I really like the flat-footed strength and twists in this, not to mention the heavy drama in the sky and whirling of the sea.
